Common Questions
The AI didn't extract the event correctly
AI extraction works best with clear, well-lit photos of printed text. Common causes of inaccurate extraction:
- Handwritten text or decorative fonts
- Blurry or low-resolution images
- Relative dates like "next Saturday" or "tomorrow" — Flits cannot reliably resolve these
- Mixed languages or non-standard date formats
Always review the extracted details on the Confirm screen before saving to your calendar. You can edit any field before confirming.
Smart Scan isn't working
Smart Scan is a Premium feature on iOS only; Flits for Android does not have it. On iOS it needs access to your Photos. Check that Flits has permission:
- iOS: Settings → Flits → Photos → select "All Photos" (limited access is not enough)
Smart Scan checks your Screenshots album for new screenshots each time you open Flits, and notices new ones while the app is open.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed directly by Apple or Google — Flits does not process payments.
- iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Flits → Cancel Subscription
- Android: Google Play → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Flits → Cancel
After cancellation, Premium access normally continues until the end of your current billing period. If you cancel during a free trial, the store decides whether the trial ends immediately.
How do I request a refund?
Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google per their refund policies. Flits does not process refunds directly.
- iOS: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
- Android: Contact Google Play support through the Play Store app
How do I secure my account with an email and password?
Flits assigns you an anonymous account by default. To link your account to an email and password (so you can sign back in and restore your scan count and Premium status on a new device; scan history stays on the device it was saved on), open Settings and tap the account row at the top (it shows Guest and “Link an email to keep your account”). This opens the Secure your account screen.
I got a new phone — how do I restore my data?
If you linked your account to an email and password (Settings → tap the account row at the top → Secure your account screen), sign in with those credentials on your new device. Your scan count and Premium status will be restored. Note: scan history (individual saved scans) is stored locally on-device and is not synced to the cloud.
If you did not link your account before switching devices, the anonymous session cannot be recovered. Contact us at support@getflits.app if you need help with subscription transfer.
How do I delete my data or account?
You can manage your data directly inside the app:
- Clear scan history: Settings → Data → Clear History
- Delete your account: Settings → Data → Delete Account — this permanently deletes your Firestore user document, scan count, subscription tokens, and Firebase auth record (this also removes the records linking your store purchase to your account ID, for new account deletions; for accounts deleted before this deletion update or help restoring a purchase, contact support@getflits.app; see the Data Deletion page)
You can also submit a data deletion request via our Data Deletion page.
